The industrial revolution encompasses the critical areas for the functioning of society where management of information and control of systems depends on communication technologies and automation processes between industry infrastructures. The development of solutions, including cyber-physical systems and their security, continues to grow with collaboration between humans and smart systems. Sharing expertise and academic knowledge in digitization and engineering may play a significant role. That might be essential for staff employed in electrical energy-related jobs as well as electricity end-users who should be properly educated and trained. Development of projects for Higher Education, academic content sharing by tutoring in the partner institutions targeted to improve study programme content, as well as improved teaching content (e.g., lectures, and practical works) in English, Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian is one of the targets in the Baltic region.
The synthesis between industrial automation, smart networks, and systems throughout the value chain that can control each other with humans' cognitive, critical thinking skills moves toward a new generation of the industry. It will enhance both machine and human roles in the industry and critical infrastructures, at the same time raise new challenges, tasks, and creative sides to the specialists and engineers in such fields as information and communication technologies, automation, electronics, and electrical engineering, cybersecurity, and protection, etc. In relation to this, the wide range of tasks in digital engineering, development of communication technologies, cyber-physical systems, securing industry and critical infrastructures, as well as education of the next generation of researchers and academic staff with competencies in engineering and digitization is required.
The objectives and the goals of the were to:
1. To strengthen the regional creativity potential in the region, co-organize the events that influence the technological expertise in the region, thus strengthening the future engineering potential of the Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania as a natural result of long-term development;
2. To affirm national and Baltic values of the 21st century;
3. To propagate the talents, excellence, enterprise, and achievement people of the Baltic;
4. To strengthen young people's creative initiative and sense of belonging to Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.
The mobility is organized to give an opportunity to bring together regional competence, in the level of young professionals and experienced professionals, to not compete but grow up the regional competencies. The sharing of expertise, experience, as well as achievements in information security, protection and digitization of systems, smart communication capabilities, engineering and automation, power supply, power electronics, telecommunication, IT, and cross-domain challenges to improve the quality of teaching, abilities for students and get common research results. This allows to take on more responsibility and increased supervision of automated digitized systems in new generation industry and critical infrastructures as well as to elevate the quality of industrial production across the board.
